Privacy policy
Written to be read by a parent in five minutes, and understood by a twelve-year-old.
What we collect
From a parent: name, email, and an optional trusted-adult phone number used only on the child's crisis screen.
From a child: daily mood check-ins, feelings and situation tags, journal entries, guided-exercise answers, and messages with the in-app companion.
What a parent can and cannot see
Parents see trends: mood over time, how many check-ins and exercises happened, which situation categories came up, and a weekly digest.
Parents never see journal text, chat transcripts, or the words written inside an exercise.
Safety and crisis escalation
Check-in notes are matched against a reviewed list of risk phrases. If one matches, the child immediately sees a crisis screen with a helpline and their trusted adult, and the parent is alerted.
We tell children about this before they start, in their own assent screen. Safety escalation is never silent.
Retention and deletion
Data is kept while the account is active. A parent can request erasure at any time from the dashboard; the request has a 7-day cooling-off window and can be cancelled.
On erasure, all child records are removed and the parent profile is stripped of personal details. Only a minimal audit record of the deletion itself is kept.
Who else sees it
We do not sell data or use it for advertising. Data is processed only to run the app's features described above.
Not medical care
MindBloom is a wellbeing tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or provide therapy or emergency care.
